You will manage all country- and region-specific (North America NA) claims within the business liability and workers compensation portfolio, as well as risk management activities to ensure we comply with local regulatory requirements and that we are aligned with our risk management strategies. You will advise the regional business on operational risk management including day-to-day business, contract review, litigation, claims management, and risk assessment for new and ongoing business opportunities. Working under the direction of Mondelz Internationals Director, Insurable Risk, you will analyze, quantify, and assess risks arising from operations and ensure that those risks are managed and financed to an acceptable tolerance through retention, risk transfer and control arrangements established by the Global Risk Management team. How you will contribute You will: Oversee the North American liability claims portfolio, region business risk assessment and remediation, projecting balance sheet and cash flow impacts, local insurance administration and control claims incurred. Contribute to a strong controls and compliance environment in the Risk Financing and Insurance team and follow best practices to ensure fair workers compensation, automobile liability, and general liability claims management, integrity, and quality service to those involved. Oversee and manage our third-party claims administrators to ensure they are delivering the service required to manage the day-to-day activities related to liability driven claims across our North American business Develop claims resolution strategies to drive positive outcomes across the claims portfolio Drive for harmonization, efficiencies, and improvements to ways of working and contribute to a mindset of continuous improvement within the Risk Financing and Insurance team. Provide and assist with risk management training and educational programs on behalf of Risk Financing and Insurance team and promote awareness of our risk management strategy within the business. Develop and deliver claims reports to help business partners understand and learn from experience to drive continuous improvements in safety and claims management. You will bring experience and knowledge in: TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in risk management and insurance practices, claims management, underwriting, brokering and/or engineering training. Fundamental understanding of property and casualty insurance program concepts and terminology. BUSINESS ACUMEN and deep understanding of our business and finance. Significant and relevant experience in claims management or risk management for a large global corporation or experience in an insurance company, third-party administrator, or brokerage. LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering, negotiation and communication skills across a large global, public company; experience working as a finance leader managing global, cross-functional and business partner teams to drive optimization. Proven project management skills. GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and ability to identify opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values and policies and external regulations. Additional Information: The Casualty Claims Manager, NA will be responsible for setting strategy for the resolution of claims and related litigation for Mondelez Internationals North America workers compensation and third-party liability portfolio. You will be a partner with internal teams, third-party administrator(s), insurance brokers, legal, and other external groups to review, investigate, and evaluate potential liability and damages, and resolve assigned claims in a timely fashion. The Claims Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the assessment, monitoring and management of insurable operational risks by identifying loss drivers and reporting claims trends to reduce claims frequency and severity. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science and/or Business degree in Risk Management, Accounting or Finance, MBA/CPA preferred Minimum of 6 or more years of experience in Claims, Risk Management or Finance Claims management experience is required Third party administrator experience or CPG experience is strongly preferred Previous management experience is preferred Outstanding leadership skills Extremely systems savvy with ability to leverage latest technology Outstanding analytical mindset with a desire to find the hidden opportunities for cost savings Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders Strong influencing and communication skills, and ability to lead informal teams Ability to manage tight deadlines and work under pressure, managing multiple and changing priorities Ability to communicate analysis in a clear, succinct, and persuasive manner to all levels of the organization Hybrid role from the Chicago (Fulton Market) office Salary and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $109,000 to $149,875; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
