Job TitleFederal College Work Study-Student (Recs- Healthy U) Agency Texas A&M International University Department Recreational Sports Proposed Minimum Salary$8.00 hourly Job LocationLaredo, Texas Job TypeStudent Worker Job Description Job Summary Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that support the growth of departmental programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Associate Director, assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that support the growth of departmental programs, including developing and implementing messaging and timelines for all marketing and event efforts while ensuring that departmental and University branding guidelines are utilized. Perform general office duties including but not limited to answering telephones, typing, filing, photocopying, and assisting customers. Assist with coordinating, setting up, and running Healthy U events. Assist with implementation of web technologies to streamline processes to include departmental website and social media sites. Assists in identifying the appropriate social media channels to expand Healthy U program awareness and tailors campaigns to the appropriate target audience. Tracks performance of various social media initiatives and develops/implements changes to improve goals and objectives. Perform other related duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining certifications/licenses as terms of employment. Minimum Requirements Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates. Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduates' students. Must have a current and complete file with the Office of Financial Aid. Must demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA application annually. Must be a U.S. citizen, or permanent residence, or has an alien registration number.an eligible non-citizen. Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIUs Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of adobe Photoshop and video editing software. Knowledge of University policies as well as Recreational Sports guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants. Must possess effective public speaking skills. Must possess excellent customer service skill. Knowledge of content management systems and design software. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Other Requirements Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions. Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule. Promptly complete all required trainings. Submit time sheet biweekly. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Subject to funding and/or need. Pay of Rate: $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly All positions are security-sensitive. To be eligible for Student Employment: Undergraduate Students · Undergraduate student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester of college-level courses or accepted remedial courses. · International undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours to meet the federal immigration guidelines. · Must maintain a 2.0 TAMIU overall GPA. Graduate Students: · Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester. · International graduate students must enroll in 9 semester credit hours in order to meet the federal immigration guidelines. · Must maintain a 3.0 TAMIU overall GPA. Students who will be graduating may enroll for less than half time for their final semester. Must submit proof of graduation. Federal and State Work Study positions It may also be advantageous for you to apply for financial aid to assist you with meeting your educational goals. This may also include being eligible for the Federal Work Study and State Work Study programs.
