Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Industrial Engineer (Level 2) or a Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA. The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. This position may be hired at a higher level Responsibilities will include: Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance Complete time studies and follow through with action items resulting from the study Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 2): Bachelor's of Science degree with 1 year of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Masters of Science degree with 0 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment Minimum 1 year of experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications e.g. Excel, Tableau, etc. Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System) Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access Ability to travel at least 10% Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor's of Science degree with 4 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Masters of Science degree with 3 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a PHD degree with 0 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment Minimum 1 year of experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications e.g. Excel, Tableau, etc. Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System) Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access Ability to travel at least 10% Preferred Qualifications: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree preferred Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams Experience with SQL, VBA, Python or other programming languages Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods Experience with agile methods of project management or development Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
