What You Will be Doing This position is responsible for the development, coordination, contract oversight, service delivery, training and safety of the entire Community Service/Service Learning component at OYCP and within the National Guard Bureau service model. Additional Duties In addition to managing the Community Service/Service-Learning program, this position is responsible for a range of operational and logistical support tasks that directly impact cadet readiness and program success. These duties include: Coordinating daily cadet transportation for off-site projects and ensuring vehicle safety, cleanliness, fueling, and maintenance (on-site and scheduled service). Developing and maintaining the daily Plan of the Day (POD) to ensure seamless scheduling of cadet movements, staffing, and logistical support. Communicating regularly with Cadre, education staff, and administrative leadership to ensure alignment of community service activities with overall training plans. Managing and tracking service tools, PPE, and project materials; ensuring all items are available, serviceable, and stored securely. Preparing detailed project packets (e.g., Service to Community Agreements, site evaluations, rosters, safety plans) for all cadet events. Supporting operational coverage by assisting Cadre, classroom staff, or mentors during transitions, projects, or when short-staffed. Maintaining accurate data and documentation of service hours, incident reports, equipment use, and cadet participation for compliance and reporting. Representing OYCP in communication with partner agencies, nonprofits, and government entities in a professional, mission-aligned manner. Working Conditions Must be able and willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays; Must possess a valid Class B CDL and be able to transport staff and Cadets to community service sites by van or bus. Extensive sitting, standing and walking; extensive computer terminal work and phone work; must be able to lift up to 50lbs; must be able to provide physical assistance to Cadets/staff in emergency situations and remove from harms way; must be able to work in inclement weather including hot and cold extremes in/out of doors; exceptional attendance, dependability and reliability are essential working conditions in this position.
