Job Summary The nursing technician is a member of a team dedicated to provide the highest quality care and services to our patients by assisting in such functions as maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment; assisting with dietary aspects of care, transporting patients, and assisting visitors. As an integral part of the team, the nursing technician is responsible for activities, which promote patient focused care within the patient unit. Essential Functions The nursing technician provides safe direct patient care under the guidance of the professional registered nurse. The nursing technician provides indirect patient care under the direction of the registered professional nurse and according to the goals and medical care plan of the patient. The nursing technician demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability. The nursing assistant supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization. Maintains responsibility and accountability for own practice. Qualifications High School Required 1. Customer Service 2. Identification of clinical alarms 3. Use of patient care equipment; bed alarm and scale, geri chairs, stretchers, wheel chairs, bed, equipment for speciality unit. 4. Body Mechanics 5. Isolation Precautions. 6. Safety precautions 7. Aspiration Precautions 8. Communicates with the use of AIDET 9. Phelbotomy Skills 10. EKG recording 11. Blood pressure reading 12. Unit based speciality skills need to perform job function efficiently.
