Mid-Level or Senior Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer - Regulatory Compliance Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer to join our team located in Everett, WA. In Flight Deck, you will define the look and feel of the interface for the pilots. You will be responsible for that design from conception to the end of its service life. Come join a team of experts in flight operations, with unique knowledge of how flight crews operate our airplanes and what their needs, tasks, and constraints are. The successful Flight Deck team member has a passion for aviation and enjoys working with a team of pilots, engineers, Human Factors specialists, and customers who share that same passion. Primary responsibilities: Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry. Owns Certification Plans for Human Factors Certification Plans Coordinates regulatory engagement, action closure, and comment responses Identifies and communicates of program certification risks Shares cross program certification process lessons learned and integrating lessons learned from cross program counterparts Understands and applies certification basis and certification history for a given program Primary liaison between Flight Deck and the regulators for a given program or project Organization responsibilities: Designs, tests, and certifies the look, feel, and operational behavior of the flight deck, from the early conceptual phase to supporting airplanes through their service life Establishes design requirements for changes and enhancements to the flight crew interface on existing or new commercial airplane models, and testing and implementing those enhancements Leads cross-functional reviews to understand airplane-level impacts of system failures and the associated flight deck effects and pilot actions Supports product development efforts to identify new and emerging technologies to increase aviation safety and add value to our products or services Prototypes cockpit layouts using commercial and company-unique computing tools, and validating design requirements and flight deck design philosophies during test programs using analysis, flight deck simulators, and flight test airplanes Collaborates with pilots, designers, and systems engineers to ensure flight deck interfaces and flight management automation complements the cognitive, physical, sensory and ergonomic capabilities of our pilots Ensures practical application of Boeing Flight Deck and human factors design principles, commonality and integration with other mission objectives Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
