Location: Clemson University Pay Rate: Hourly - Hourly Plan, 15.50 USD Hourly Work Shift: Job Description Responsibilities HHS IS Hiring! We are currently seeking individuals to join the Janitorial Services in Clemson, SC. This will be a temp role with the opportunity to gain full-time/part-time employment. Custodians Pay: $15.50/hr Shifts: Morning/Day shifts available Position Summary: The University Janitorial group is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across campus facilities, including academic buildings, offices, restrooms, laboratories, and common areas. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: (Custodians) Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces. Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies, Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with university policies. Report any necessary repairs or safety hazards, such as leaks, broken fixtures, or damaged flooring to your supervisor. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals. Respond to urgent cleaning needs or spills in a timely manner. Support sustainability efforts by following recycling and waste management procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus operations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, especially in an educational or institutional setting. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods. Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures is a plus. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Work Environment: This position requires working in various indoor and outdoor settings across campus, including classrooms, laboratories, athletic facilities, and administrative offices. Custodians may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
