Position Title: Golf Pro Shop Workers Job Posting Closing Date: ***OPEN FILE RECRUITMENT*** [Applications will be considered in the order they are received for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days.] Provo City is hiring seasonal workers to perform guest service roles in the Pro Shop at Timpanogos Golf Clubhouse. These roles include managing day-to-day pro shop operations and interacting with the public. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply. Job Details What shifts are available? Hours and timeframes vary depending on weather and season. · General Pro Shop: All Open Hours, 7 days per week (3 - 4 shifts/week) · Closing Shifts: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (1 - 2 shifts/week) · Sunday Crew: 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (2 - 3 shifts/month) What is the compensation? Pay Rate: $8.50 - $15.00 per hour, depending upon skill level and experience. Seasonal Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive these great benefits: a) free admission to the Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating; b) a free Provo City Library Card; and c) discounts from various local and national vendors. Golf Course employees are also provided free golf, carts and range balls when available. What will I do? Open and close the golf course. Manage tee sheets. Assist in golf merchandising and inventory. Provide friendly customer service. Prepare and record nightly deposits. Assist head and assistant professionals in daily tasks. Assist with tournaments, outings, and events. Assist other crew members as needed/directed. Perform other related work as required. What do I need to apply? Any training or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position. Physical strength and agility to perform the work. Valid, lawful driver license may be required upon appointment. What are the hours and duration? Positions are for a fixed term from approximately February through December. Hours of operation are from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., Sunday through Saturday. Employees must be available during these hours for scheduling and will work 4- to 8- hour shifts up to 40 hours per week. Actual schedule will vary throughout the season, including weekends and holidays, and will be coordinated with supervisor. What are the physical and environmental factors? This position requires working indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including rain, sun, and varying temperatures; using equipment; bending, reaching, stooping, climbing; and lifting items of up to 50 lbs.; regular interaction with the public, sometimes in potentially tense or confrontational situations; and may require writing or typing at a terminal for extended periods of time. What is the selection process? This is an open file posting. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
