About the Role As a Storeroom Attendant at Zekelman Industries Wheatland Tube division in Rochelle, IL, you will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency by maintaining accurate inventory, assisting production and maintenance teams, and ensuring a smooth flow of materials throughout the facility. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where organization and accuracy are essential. Shift: We are currently hiring for 1st shift (5am-1pm) and 3rd shift (11pm-7am) What Youll Do Promote safe work practices in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements. Purchase and replenish storeroom inventory using SAP or equivalent systems. Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials. Tag and label received materials to maintain inventory accuracy. Prepare materials and bills of lading for outbound shipments. Track purchases, monitor vendor performance, and maintain supplier databases. Prepare and verify purchase orders, including specifications and pricing. Maintain adequate inventory levels to support maintenance and production operations. Assist employees in locating parts and supplies to minimize downtime. Operate a forklift to receive, store, load, and unload materials. Conduct cycle counts to support accurate inventory records. Perform additional duties as assigned to support storeroom and facility operations. Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance as required. Who You Are Experience in a factory or manufacturing environment preferred; trade or technical experience a plus. Ability to obtain forklift certification. Knowledge of tools and materials used in maintenance and operations environments. Basic computer proficiency; SAP experience preferred. Strong attention to detail with effective multitasking skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work safely and adhere to PPE requirements. Physical Abilities Ability to stand, walk, reach, handle materials, and use hands throughout the workday. Ability to lift, bend, carry, push, pull, and operate material-handling equipment. Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, and airborne particles. This is a good-faith estimate; actual offers may vary based on experience, education, skills, and interview performance.
