Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individuals for Mechanical Engineering Internships. The ideal candidate for these positions will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you are a current student looking for an opportunity to develop your engineering skills, learn from industry leading engineers, and enhance your academic learning, then this may be the position for you! A typical day as a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Intern might include the following: Supporting functional/qualification test plans, testing, and test reports. Running tolerance, return on investment (ROI), thermal, and structural analysis. Designing plastic, machined, sheet meal, and die cast parts Updating SolidWorks models and drawings Data entry of technical information into company databases (MS Access, Lotus Notes, SolidWorks, etc.) Following manufacturing development and quality assurance procedures. This job might be for you if: You are a current student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent degree You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities You are able to conduct defined testing procedures You have SolidWorks experience (or equivalent CAD software) You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent applications You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Location Information All SEL internships are 100% onsite. Pay Range Data ($19.50 - $32.50 per hour) - Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). SEL managers work with their interns to arrange flexible schedules that accommodate classes and studying while working part-time during the school year.
