What Youll Be Doing Sample and test Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) by collecting representative materials from production or the job site and performing required volumetric tests, including laboratory compaction and maximum specific gravity. Verify Job Mix Formula (JMF) compliance through continuous monitoring of asphalt binder content and aggregate gradation to ensure all materials stay within specified tolerances. Perform daily aggregate sampling and testing at various production stages according to established schedules, specifications, and quality standards. Maintain testing equipment by cleaning, calibrating, and ensuring all tools remain in proper working condition to support accurate and reliable results. Document and communicate results by reporting findings to operators and the mine manager throughout the day, preparing end-of-day reports for the Quality team, and collaborating with production personnel to identify and resolve quality issues. Strong problem-solving and math skills, with competency in computer applications and Microsoft Office suite. Effective communication skills, ability to follow directions, and meet deadlines. Willingness to learn through on-the-job training, video, and reading materials, and work cooperatively as part of a production team. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with applicable post-secondary education, ACI certification, and experience in quality control, manufacturing, or production being an asset. Some mechanical experience is a plus. Work Environment Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
