What We Offer This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The starting pay for this position is $20.06/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denvers 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. Oncall positions may have routine or variable work schedules. Location These positions will report to 4495 Jason St., Denver, CO, but will work at various locations throughout the city. What Youll Do Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking 6 on-call Utility Workers supporting Amenities, Carpentry, and Paint/Graffiti removal. These are seasonal positions that will work no more than 39 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits. Specifically, as a Citywide Maintenance Worker you will: Work outdoors and sometimes indoors on various parks amenities using and maintaining various hand-powered tools, pressure washers, paint equipment and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Assist in responding to amenities, carpentry, or paint maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasks. Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and installation of various amenities and carpentry such as fencing, concrete, asphalt, and playground equipment and structures along with graffiti removal, roof PMs and paint needs. Support operations to maintain, clean, or restore infrastructure and amenities in parks. Work indoors and outdoors to help prepare and maintain pools and splashpads for summer operation and winter shutdown. Work alongside experienced skilled trades workers to learn best practices in responding to daily work orders, aquatic maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasks. Handle hazardous chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, muriatic acid, and test kit materials for pool set ups. Work with plumbers and irrigation technicians to make repairs. Perform snow removal operations such as plowing, shoveling, and de-icing as needed. Perform various related duties as needed such as trash collection, bathroom maintenance and cleaning, vandalism repair/graffiti removal.
