Job Description The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable transactions including processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders. Main responsibilities include processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders Process invoices for utilities, property tax, HOA, insurance and normal operating activity Knowledge of capitalization policy for proper coding Obtain W-9s from vendors prior to payment; assist with distribution of 1099s Assist with vendor account reconciling as requested Assist with month end closing ensuring work orders/invoices are closed or matched to a purchase order Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances Provide supporting documentation for audits. Maintain vendor files. Identify and research outstanding invoices Qualifications: Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plus Proficiency with Excel Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements 2 years of successful experience in an accounts payable position Prior property management experience a plus Previous customer service background Minimum Requirements: High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred. Demonstrated attention to detail Ability to work independently, taking ownership of work product and completing work within specified deadlines Ability to work in a team environment Solid math and financial acumen Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, including: Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
