Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit. Specific Summary of Duties: Student employees in the Student Activities area plan and implement large campus events and coordinate smaller ongoing activities for the campus community. · They are passionate about creating fun opportunities for their peers to gather and have enriching experiences. · They promote a culture of student involvement on campus by communicating and inviting others to participate as volunteers or participants. · They are self-motivated and organized and know how to lead, motivate, and manage volunteers while overseeing multiple activities and events. · They promote leadership development opportunities through delegation, accountability, and support. They are responsible for creating service, wellness, multiculture and social activities, creating opportunities for students to gather, connect, and socialize through well-planned and meaningful activities. · Promote a positive and inclusive culture of student involvement on campus and invite all to be involved and participate · Build and supervise a team of volunteers and leaders to help implement and manage activities in a designated area · Execute assigned large campus events · Delegate to and hold volunteers accountable for assigned tasks and commitments · Oversee the promotion of activities and events · Ensure logistical protocols are being followed in the implementation · Create and develop plans for new events and activities · Support and guide students as they implement their ideas · Complete event reports · Meet and collaborate with other area directors · Report to the Manager of Student Engagement · Work a maximum of 20 hours per week--Hours are flexible and may vary depending on the weeks activities. Peer Mentor Duties - Work with incoming students to promote a smooth onboarding process. - Regularly meet, reach out and talk with new students and direct them to campus resources that meet their needs.
