Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with each residents assessment, individualized care plan, and direction from licensed nursing staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene. Assist residents with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and mobility needs. Measure and record vital signs (TPRs), weights, and intake/output as directed. Promptly answer call lights and ensure residents needs are met. Assist residents during meals and document food and fluid intake. Observe and report changes in residents physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the Charge Nurse. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Maintain clean and organized resident rooms and ensure residents remain comfortable and dry. Follow infection control, bloodborne pathogen, and safety protocols. Accurately complete documentation and charting in accordance with facility policies. Maintain strict confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Immediately report accidents, incidents, injuries, abuse allegations, or safety concerns. Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed. Follow all policies and procedures and complete assigned duties as directed by supervisors. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Education and Experience Minimum 10th grade education required. Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California. CPR certification preferred. Required Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math skills for documentation purposes. Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition. Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repositioning residents. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and assist with heavier transfers as part of a team. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including assisting with evacuation if necessary. Work Environment This position operates within a skilled nursing facility environment. Exposure to healthcare-related conditions may occur. The noise level is typically low to moderate.
