Line of Business: Business Management, Strategy & Support Job Description: Department Overview: Business Program & Delivery team within Office of the Deputy U.S. Treasury oversees key business programs and routines which supports a broad range of activities for US Treasury. Our mandate is to provide centralized program management oversight of business operations, management, and governance routines to position US Treasury to operate effectively while prioritizing consistency in approach and transparency for Senior Management. This is accomplished by leading and supporting self-funded initiatives that provide intrinsic value to the needs of the organization and providing single point of contact for coordination, tracking and management of certain administrative activities impacting US Treasury, seeking to reduce the burden for our business partners, allowing them to focus on the day-to-day business operations. Our team focus is to (i) support and manage implementation of business initiatives that drive quick wins, efficient process improvements, and strategic uplift across US Treasury, (ii) act as liaison for activities impacting teams across US Treasury by supporting and coordinating administrative and operational activities, and (iii) provide the US Treasurer, US Deputy Treasurer and the US Treasury Leadership team transparency on business program activities as well as an integrated and aggregated approach for these programs and business routines (e.g., change management activities, etc.). The Sr Business Mgmt Specialist leads a significant business management function and/or strategy planning, oversight, control or governance activities for highly complex / high risk / transformational (change the bank) / strategic initiatives, liaises across the organization and primarily interfaces with executive and/or functional stakeholders. Depth & Scope: Generally accountable for a significant business management area that typically has enterprise wide impact or accountability Enterprise or functional expert, requiring broad managerial and deep specialized knowledge at the enterprise, business, regulatory and industry levels Undertakes and completes a variety of complex initiatives requiring seasoned specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes Position typically deals with senior/executive management Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater) May manage and prioritize multiple projects at a given time Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree 10+ years relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level presentations, status reporting, and decision materials Execution: Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and drive results through influence and collaboration Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build trusted relationships, drive alignment, and navigate competing priorities Project Delivery: Demonstrated expertise in project planning, execution, risk management, and issue resolution Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering business value Change Leadership: Experience leading change initiatives in fast-paced, complex, and highly regulated environments, successfully delivering business transformation programs Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes Continuous Improvement: Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of simplifying processes and enhancing operational effectiveness Ownership & Attention to Detail: Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, proactively identify and resolve issues, and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal oversight. Customer Accountabilities: Contributes to the strategic direction of the business management function and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the overall business strategy Plans, leads / manages and/or oversees a diverse set of work activities requiring alignment across multiple areas Leads / manages the integrated implementation of policies / processes / procedures / changes in across multiple functional areas Provides direction and/or input to complex, wide ranging enterprise or cross-function / business projects/initiatives as a subject matter expert and where necessary participates in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting the implementation Facilitates key discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audience (output is roadmap and/or strategic plan/ deliverables/frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.) Leads partner to management / leadership and respective teams for area of specialization with industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness; recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying issues and opportunities and recommending action to senior management Works effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing others as needed Shareholder Accountabilities: Adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to business management activities for own area Actively manages relationships with corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank Assesses / identifies key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders where required Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets).
