Student Employee - Supplemental Instruction (SI) Lead Position Summary: Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leads are student employees who facilitate peer-led study sessions for historically challenging courses at Ensign College. SI Leads attend the assigned course, model successful academic behaviors, and lead engaging, interactive group sessions designed to reinforce course material, build student confidence, and promote collaborative learning. We are hiring for MAT 104, 107, or 110, COMM 122, BAP 115, ENG 101, HIST 170, HUM 110, and ART 101. Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part-time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. Hours: 10-19 hours a week during the semester, and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour, with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit. Specific Summary of Duties: Plan and lead 1-2 weekly SI sessions (45-60 minutes each), including occasional extended review sessions before exams or major assignments. Use collaborative and active learning techniques. Attend all class meetings of the assigned course. Take thorough notes, stay up to date on readings, and review/understand instructional content. Participate in weekly team meetings. Track and submit session attendance. Promote SI sessions in class and among peers. Job Qualification: Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits (3 per block). Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication. Have the ability to communicate effectively, listen and respond appropriately. Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, and has a great attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, staff, and students. Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed. Proficient in Office 365 and Canvas. Ability to lead group discussions/instruction. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and remain in Good Academic Standing.
