Available Title(s): 151E-YN_CS_NPS - Fiscal Specialist 1 Business Title: Fiscal Specialist 1 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: As a Fiscal Specialist 1 with Facilities Services, youll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Under general supervision, youll take ownership of procurement processesmanaging stock, special orders, and operational purchaseswhile applying your knowledge of university, state, and departmental policies. Youll maintain accurate electronic records using our project management and inventory systems, ensuring purchases align with budget allocations and account structures. Your attention to detail and analytical mindset will help enforce internal controls and support sound fiscal practices. In this role, youll also provide valuable insights to administrators through fiscal analysis and reporting. Youll have the opportunity to recommend improvements and help shape more effective processes across the department. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,581 to $4,771 | Range 40 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: Three (3) years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience. Two (2) years experience performing duties requiring occupational level keyboarding/typing; OR equivalent education/experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to achieve and facilitate harmonious working relationships with others. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrate knowledge of automated procurement and supply management system. Extensive knowledge of Washington State purchasing rules, policies and procedures. Extensive knowledge of vendors in the construction/material supply industry or chemical/gas commodity industry. Two (2) years of experience working with purchasing and/or inventory management systems or databases.
