Now Hiring: Dietary Cook Full-Time Moraga Post Acute | Moraga, CA Pay Rate: $18-$19.00+ per Hour (DOE) Moraga Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Cook to join our culinary team. In this important role, you will help provide nutritious, appetizing meals that contribute to the health, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents. We are looking for a team-oriented professional who takes pride in food preparation and is committed to delivering exceptional service in a healthcare setting. Position Overview The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with approved menus, physician-prescribed diets, and food safety regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, sanitation, and resident satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines. Ensure compliance with physician-ordered diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified, and other therapeutic meal plans. Follow portion control standards and ensure attractive meal presentation. Maintain safe food handling, preparation, storage, and sanitation practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Monitor and document food temperatures to ensure compliance with food safety requirements. Assist with meal tray preparation, assembly, and service. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas. Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal delivery. Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and supply organization. Follow infection control procedures, workplace safety standards, and department policies at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, healthcare setting, or commercial food service environment required. Knowledge of therapeutic diets, dietary restrictions, and food safety regulations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Food Handler's Certificate required or ability to obtain upon hire.
