This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grummans Production Engineering & Operations (PE&O) organization. The shifts available for this role are one of the following work schedules: 4/10A 1st or 2nd shift (10 hr/day Monday Thursday) 4/10B 1st or 2nd shift (10 hr/day Tuesday Friday) 3/10 1st or 2nd shift (10 hr/day Friday - Sunday) 9/80 1st or 2nd shift Roles and Responsibilities: Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (T01) or Manufacturing Engineer (T02). Basic Qualifications for a Associate Manufacturing Engineer (T01): A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their Bachelors degree from an accredited institution by May 2026. Be majoring in or having majored in a Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree. Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start. Basic Qualifications for a Manufacturing Engineer (T02): A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their Masters degree from an accredited institution by May 2026 or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by May 2026 and 1 year of Manufacturing engineering experience. Be majoring in or having majored in a Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree. Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start. Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer: Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). Fabrication, Assembly, GD&T, process improvement, CAD modeling, machining experience. Shop Floor Liason, Cable Harness Fabrication/Assembly experience. Creating and updating work instructions experience. Active U.S. Government security clearance.
