Job Overview If you want to make a difference in the lives of parents and their children who reside in an out of home placement, join Acenda as a Therapist in our Supportive Visitation Services program serving Atlantic, Burlington and Cape May Counties. Therapists work as part of a supportive team to help improve parent-child interactions and attachment, address behavioral health needs and empower parents to meet their childrens physical, developmental and emotional needs through regular meaningful visits. Program Info Supportive Visitation Services promote and maintain the parent-child bond and support positive family interactions by facilitating weekly visitation with children in an out of home placement and their parents, relatives, and siblings. The goals of the program are to foster effective communication, enhance parenting, achieve permanency and maintain reunification. Responsibilities: Work as part of a supportive team to enhance parent-child interactions and attachment, ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of children. Address behavioral health needs and empower parents to meet their childrens physical, developmental, and emotional needs through meaningful visits. Conduct biopsychosocial intake assessments to determine family strengths, needs, and create tailored visit plans. Ensure the safety of children by modeling appropriate interactions between parents and children during visits. Facilitate collaborative visit planning meetings with parents, visit participants, and relevant stakeholders to align on goals and strategies. Implement evidence-based services and adjust intervention strategies as needed to align with family goals. Collaborate with peers, DCP&P, and other community providers to ensure continuity of care and support for the family. Complete necessary documentation in line with program and agency requirements. Requirements: Master's degree in counseling, psychology or social work Must have an active NJ license (LAC, LSW, LMFT, LPC, LCSW) or be in process of obtaining it. Must have a minimum of one year of experience working with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma. Strong knowledge of child development, attachment, and behavioral health needs. Ability to facilitate positive interactions and work collaboratively with families. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Previous experience working with DCP&P or similar agencies is a plus. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record.
