Full Job Description

Position Title: Security/Guest service FLSA Status:Part time $16 per hour Department: Security Report to: Operation Manager or Manager on duty Position Summary: Patrol the Convention Center to provide for the general safety of the public and the companys property and personnel via foot patrol or central office monitoring. Qualifications: Previous 3-6 months experience as a security guard or similar position required. Must maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information Flexibility to work required nights and afternoons, weekends and holidays, as necessary. Ability to physically perform the duties required of this position. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to listen to and follow instructions. Ability to work and get along with others. Must have professional attitude, appearance, and personality. Must have valid driver license Clear police record. Pass background check-credit Responsibilities: Patrol all areas of the center, both interior and exterior, keeping alert for disturbances, safety deficiencies, fire, theft of company/client-owned equipment, personal injuries and infractions of policies to ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors and employees. Aid the customers and visitors of the center by answering any questions and offering assistance in the case of emergencies. Know, understand, and enforce company rules and regulations. Report any suspicious or unusual occurrences of deficiencies to supervisor or department head. Write concise, clear and complete reports on all (guests and employees) accidents and incidents. Secure building after hours and maintain patrol to ensure safety of building and property. Utilize all equipment in the control center including cameras, fire alarm system, and alarm monitoring equipment, lighting, and computer equipment. Act as informational resource for our attendees with directions, island activities, etc. Sounds alarm, calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Performs other duties as assigned by either the Event Coordinator or other Department Heads. Performs cash handling and/or cashiering functions based on demand Physical Demands: Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time (up to 80% of this position is walking) occasionally in inclement weather. Must be able to lift up to 40 Ibs. Must be able to adapt to changes in work environment, managing competing demands and frequent changes. I have read and understand the above requirements of the job.
