Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent DESCRIPTION Project Engineer will be responsible for the design and design implementation of project subsystems, utilizing contract documents, vendor submissions, and subcontractor information to develop and coordinate a 3D model, and create construction drawings for field installations. Upon completion of installation documents, project engineer will monitor related project subsystems construction progress, while maintaining close contact with field staff to ensure a smooth installation process, through project completion. Construction document management of the assigned project subsystem(s) for the duration of the project. Engineering & Implementation of Design Documents Review & interpret contract documents such as plans, specifications, and project criteria. Provide technical review & incorporate subcontractor / vendor shop drawings, details & product data into the design. Create & incorporate RFIs into the design. Review & incorporate design changes such as change orders & bulletins. Applying project criteria, national electric code, standards, & installation techniques to complete a compliant & efficient system design for field installation. 3D modeling utilizing BIM software Utilizing the engineering, design, & subcontractor / vendor information to model all system components with BIM software, such as Revit, in a manner which aligns with project estimates & schedule. Coordination Collaborating within a team environment to create a coordinated & clash free model both internally and with other trade organizations utilizing clash detection software. Represent company in design & trade coordination meetings. Creation & Submission of Installation Shop Drawings utilizing BIM software Applying company & project standards to create, annotate, notate, & submit installation shop drawings through final approvals for construction of system, via BIM software such as Revit. Interface with field staff to implement approved installation drawings. Preparing close-out documents such as As-built drawings. Assist with estimates to quantify scope of design changes. Ability to apply innovative & effective time management techniques to maximize performance. Additional responsibilities as directed. REQUIREMENTS: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or similar, from an accredited institution is preferred, but not required. High School diploma/GED required. Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical construction. Previous experience including but not limited to, knowledge of Electrical systems and/or Low Voltage systems (e.g. IT, Radio, Security, Fire Alarm, Controls, etc.) & design. Proficient in software such as Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite / Outlook. Practical knowledge of electrical industry codes, standards, & installation techniques. Experience with NYC area building construction projects. Familiarity with construction management processes such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, bulletins, etc. Five Star Electric builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
