In this role, you will: Provide process functional leadership in Personal Care Research and Development (R&D) for pads and liners Discovery for KCNA. Focus on process engineering/development for product and/or material innovation projects ranging from early process definition through process viability and optimization. Provide process engineering leadership through development and execution of learning plans focused on delivering Minimum Viable Technology in the manufacturing and converting processes for the existing product forms, as well as develop, direct, and execute evolutionary changes to the process as dictated by technology or product innovation. Focus on activities across our North American Personal Care, Global manufacturing facilities, and external contract manufacturers. Work in conjunction with R&D project team members and cross-functional partners. Report to an R&D Manager and receives work direction from the Manager and Technical Leader and will give work direction, coaching, and mentoring to junior team members. Responsibilities: Provide process engineering leadership to a team of internal and external engineers and developers to establish equipment designs that deliver against process and product success criteria. Involvement spans from early technology and material concept evaluation through process viability and optimization. Provide creativity in the design, development, and optimization of Personal Care converting and manufacturing equipment and processes to meet business unit objectives. Develop and deliver process learning plans in conjunction with broader R&D cross functional project team activities and timelines. Work closely with the product, material, and engineering leads to provide functional guidance in the design, development and/or optimization of converting equipment/processes to meet unit objectives. Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized as an effective implementer of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management. Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized as an effective subject matter expert in advanced process development, problem solving and documentation. Acquire and transfer technical knowledge in process engineering with a focus on developing solutions for both existing and future equipment, processes and products. Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers. Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel. Influence: This role will interact daily with cross functional partners: Product, Materials, Pilot Facilities, Strategy and Innovation Marketing, Procurement, Manufacturing, external equipment manufacturers/suppliers, etc. This role will develop and represent the process engineering learning plans and process impacts. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline. 5+ years of experience in high-speed manufacturing of personal care products. Strong technical expertise, communication, and problem-solving ability. Effective leader and implementer of projects and developments. Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction and long-term strategy related to process engineering practices and equipment, paired with strong ability to document technical knowledge. Preferred: Experience in high-speed manufacturing of personal care products. Effectively demonstrate leadership and behaviors to align with K-Cs Ways of Working. Ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate across functions/departments. Experience with external technical service, sourcing, and supply vendor partners. Technical knowledge and experiences with high-speed manufacturing equipment. Prior exposure to plant/manufacturing experiences.
