RESPONSIBILITES: As a team member you will utilize your accounting and auditing skills to perform financial, operational, and federal compliance audits for county governments and other political entities, which include the following county courthouses: Pittsburg, Latimer, Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Pontotoc, and McCurtain. Flexibility with travel and overnight arrangements are essential for this position as travel to audit sites will be required and overnight stays possible for some audits. Please note, selected applicant will not be able to perform auditing work within the same county they reside. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A bachelors degree in accounting, or other business-related field, or a minimum of two years experience in an accounting and/or audit environment is necessary. We are interested in candidates who have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and Government Auditing Standards and who possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability and desire to work as part of a team, proficiency in Excel and Word, and a valid drivers license. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and those who have strong communication and time management skills, the ability to build effective working relationships, and a strong interest in continued professional development. SALARY/BENEFITS: The Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspectors Office offers the following benefits package: Competitive salary - entry level $48,000 - $52,000 range; salary is commensurate with education and experience.
