Directly supervises Youth Specialists in daily facilitation of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy Responsible for training, developing and evaluating staff (Youth Specialists). Enforces facility rules and regulations; monitors and evaluates students progress. Guides staff and students in the development of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy. Implements the hands on daily operations of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy. Works closely with and coordinates with collateral agencies, school district staff, probation staff and Administrators. Fills in for Site Supervisor as needed overseeing site supervision. Monitors performance of juveniles relating to completion of program requirements. Ensures adherence to safety requirements. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Two years experience in a direct care position working with juveniles. Experience working within a treatment oriented, behavior modification or adolescent/juvenile program preferred. Requires interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Management of juvenile offenders. Desire and patience in working with juveniles with a variety of challenges, some severe, in a therapeutically oriented program. Ability to guide and supervise staff. CPR First Aid Certification, Handle with Care Certification may be acquired after hire date. STARTING SALARY: $34.56 per hour CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position This position is eligible for additional compensation based upon state supplement and certification pay. An applicant may not have any of the following disqualifying criminal history: 1) A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole. 2) A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole. 3) Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. #LI-JL1 All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
