Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarters 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotels 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the buildings legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan. We are seeking a Director of Housekeeping to lead our Housekeeping team and ensure exceptional cleanliness, comfort, and service throughout the hotel. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, team development, operational excellence, and creating memorable guest experiences. The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Housekeeping Department. This role partners closely with hotel leadership to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Director of Housekeeping Essential Functions Lead, direct, and motivate all Housekeeping team members to ensure exceptional service and operational excellence Serve as the primary Housekeeping leader and partner to the hotel leadership team Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest room readiness throughout the property Recruit, onboard, develop, coach, and retain best-in-class Housekeeping talent Train, mentor, and hold team members accountable to Riggs service and operational standards Develop, implement, and continuously improve Housekeeping policies, procedures, and best practices Manage departmental scheduling, payroll, labor productivity, and staffing levels Lead and develop Housekeeping Supervisors and support their professional growth Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure quality standards are consistently met Partner with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure seamless guest satisfaction Monitor inventory levels and manage the ordering of housekeeping supplies and equipment Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and brand standards Support departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense management initiatives Knowledge, Skills & Experience Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in Housekeeping within a luxury or upscale hotel environment Previous experience managing Housekeeping operations, staffing, labor, and departmental performance Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence Proficiency with hotel systems, scheduling, and payroll management Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays based on business needs Fun, welcoming, and service-oriented personality is a must Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary Benefits At Riggs Washington DC we are committed to giving our employees the skills and support required to deliver extraordinary experiences, and most importantly, to grow in their careers.
