Process Development Associate II

Job Summary We are looking for a Development Associate II to join our Upstream Process Development team. In this role, you will support mammalian and microbial cell culture processes used in the manufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins. You will perform hands-on work with shake flasks and bioreactors - sampling, inoculating, feeding, and harvesting cultures to help develop and optimize production processes. Working under general supervision, you will carry out routine to moderately complex experiments, contributing to high-quality data generation and process improvement in a collaborative lab environment. Location: Bothell, WA Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week Compensation Range: $66,960 - $92,070 Responsibilities Maintain lab operations including cleaning, autoclaving reactors, stocking supplies, and performing equipment maintenance. Support bench-scale bioreactor and shake flask experiments using aseptic technique. Collect and analyze samples from shake flasks and bioreactors using cell counting and chemical analysis equipment. Accurately record data in batch records and lab notebooks. Perform cell culture operations including passaging, bioreactor inoculation, transfection, cloning, cell imaging, and cryopreservation. Prepare and compound media and buffers as needed. Apply core laboratory methodologies with an understanding of their applications and limitations. Collaborate with supervisors and leads to design, execute, and analyze experiments. Identify and troubleshoot technical problems with guidance. Present data in internal meetings with supervisor support. Draft protocols and contribute to reports. Participate in continuous improvement of lab processes and workflows. Qualifications A.A. or B.S. degree in life sciences or engineering, with 25 years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience in a cell culture and bioreactor lab environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with analytical instruments and computer-based systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively. Flexible and collaborative; able to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to support evening or weekend work as needed. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform lab work requiring good manual dexterity. Dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn new techniques. Academic or industry experience with mammalian cell culture, media preparation, and aseptic technique preferred.
