Join our dynamic Dining Services team at Williams College! We're seeking a dedicated and reliable Utility Worker to play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, efficient, and welcoming dining experience for our students, faculty, and staff. Pay starts at $18.75 per hour, commensurate with experience. This is a 30-hour per week, 10-month academic year position, reporting to the Late Night Assistant Manager at Whitmans. The schedule will be Thursday through Monday 7:30 pm - 2:00 am, with Tuesday and Wednesday off. All schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the department. Responsibilities: Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean and sanitize dishware, utensils, and cookware. Regularly sanitize kitchen areas, serving lines, and storage spaces. Maintain a clean and organized recycling area, ensuring proper disposal of food waste and recyclables. Restock service ware and supplies during meal periods to ensure smooth dining operations. Assist with small event setup and breakdown as needed. Perform general custodial duties to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and dining environment. Receive deliveries and stock food and supply items. Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting food items. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations during meal service. Qualifications: Must be able to work independently. Communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Duties include prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting materials (up to 40 lbs), and bend for extended periods. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established safety protocols.
