About the Opportunity Postdoctoral Associate Gene Therapy and Transport Modeling Bajpayee Lab at Northeastern is seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Associate to lead high-impact research in cartilage-targeted gene delivery within a fast-paced, NIH-funded and industry-collaborative environment. This position is designed for top-tier, self-driven scientists who can independently execute, manage multiple projects, and deliver at a high level. This work integrates gene therapy, chemical conjugation, and quantitative transport modeling to engineer charge-guided delivery systems for dense, negatively charged tissues. What You Will Do Lead multiple projects across federal and industry-funded programs Design and engineer gene delivery systems using chemical conjugation and molecular engineering Quantitatively analyze transport, partitioning, and binding kinetics in biological matrices Conduct and contribute to in vivo studies in musculoskeletal models Independently write and publish high-impact manuscripts Train and mentor students while driving projects forward Manage project budgets and presentations Who You Are PhD with a strong first-author publication record Expertise in chemical conjugation, biomaterials, or drug/gene delivery Experience with quantitative modeling (transport, kinetics, or related) Comfortable working with animal models Highly motivated, accountable, and able to manage multiple projects independently Ideal Candidates Experience with gene delivery (mRNA, DNA, CRISPR) Background in cartilage, ECM transport, or polyelectrolyte systems Prior exposure to translational or industry-linked research Position Type Research Additional Information Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer. Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 108S Expected Hiring Range: $60,315.00 - $85,192.50 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
