Building Name: ECH - Elizabethtown Community Hospital Location Address: 75 Park Street, Elizabethtown New York Regular Department: ECH - Transport Per Diem (position has no committed hours and is not benefit eligible) Standard Hours: 0 Biweekly Scheduled Hours: Shift: Variable-12Hr Primary Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Weekend Needs: As Scheduled Salary Range: Min $22.82 Mid $28.53 Max $34.23 Recruiter: Aaron Ducatte Candidates for this position will need to be available for a 12-hour shift (6:00pm - 6:00am) or as otherwise needed. JOB DESCRIPTION The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrols within and outside the facility, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and document services provided for each shift. Other responsibilities include: Contribute to the preservation of life, protection of property and overall safety of the campus for employees, visitors, and patients Conducting thorough and fair investigations into any/all inappropriate activity Provide education and guidance (as needed) to staff, visitors and patients around reducing their likelihood of becoming victims of violence Ability and willingness to operate and monitor any employer supplied security equipment All Security staff must be available for short notice call-in, in the event of an emergency Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all patient PHI (Protected Health Information) EDUCATION High School diploma EXPERIENCE Previous Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred Successful completion of all related eligibility requirements for employment Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions Good Communication Skills Ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving situations Upon hire, the Officer must complete following employer provided trainings: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) de-escalation training within 3 months of hire Any other Healthcare Security and Safety trainings required for employment by the employer Elizabethtown Community Hospital (ECH) is part of University of Vermont Health, a six-hospital network serving patients and their families in northern New York and Vermont.
