What We Offer The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $63,679.00 - $84,375.00/year, based on experience and education. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field three days a week and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. The mandatory in office day is Monday, and core business hours are between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. What Youll Do The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking a customer-service focused Benefits Analyst to join our team. The Benefits Analyst is responsible for all benefit administration functions for the employee population within the City and County of Denver. Denver currently offers a generous benefit package to over 13,000 employees and their 20,000 dependents. In this position, you would join a team of four other Benefit Analysts and two Wellness Program Analysts. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting or growing their career in benefits administration. Responsibilities Answers employee inquiries about all the City of Denvers benefits, including, medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability plans, transit pass and other supplemental plans Monitors and processes employee-initiated benefit election changes in Workday (the Citys HRIS system); follows internal procedures and applicable state and federal laws before approving changes Establish recurring, frequent benefit orientation sessions, both virtually and on-site at various City locations to educate employees on benefit information. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with multiple benefit plan vendors and serves as a liaison between employees and providers concerning non-routine questions; resolves problems and misunderstandings, enters emergency enrollment changes, and coordinates the required flow of information and documentation Scans and files documentation for records In addition to the daily responsibilities, our Benefits Analyst assumes the following non-routine duties: Assists with monthly billings to employees and reconciles accounts Schedules, plans, and assists with the annual open enrollment fairs Weekly reconciliation of vendor discrepancy reports Various Workday system audits Management of the alternative transit pass program What Youll Bring Our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following skills and characteristics: Customer focused; willing to assist employees via email, phone, and in-person when necessary Ability to work efficiently through frequent interruptions Thrives in a team environment; ability to navigate frequent overlap of duties with the other staff members Availability to work in hybrid work environment efficiently and effectively. Monday Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in Workday, and vendor website portals a plus Willingness to expand knowledge of benefit administration through continuous education opportunities coordinated by the department Minimum Qualifications Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in a benefits, or human resources environment. Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for each year of the minimum experience requirements.
