Job Description SUMMARY: Cold Food Production I is an entry level cold food production position. Working under direction, Cold Food Production Cook I prepares food in quantity for assigned unit, and is responsible for maintaining high standards for food quality while practicing proper sanitation, food safety, and cooking procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position is designated as essential personnel and, during inclement weather and emergency situation sis required to be available to the University as needed. This position requires long periods of standing and walking, and the ability to lift 50 lbs., in conditions that are often, hot, humid, or cold. Must be able to safely use and operate typical kitchen tools and equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, on occasion. QUALIFICATIONS: accuracy, even under pressure Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Demonstrated customer service skills Excellent collaboration and team building skills Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and practices Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards Safe food handler certification preferred, or certification obtained within 1 year preferred EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: H.S. Diploma or GED required Less than 2 years experience preferred WORK HOURS: Full Time, Non-exempt Sunday - Saturday Hours vary between 6a.m.- 5p.m Weekends vary Occasionally, the schedule may be adjusted to support special events, meetings, or operational needs. SALARY: Pay Grade 1 ($16.50/hr. to $18.00/hr.)
