About Our Job What We Offer This internship is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. The City and County of Denver offers a competitive pay rate to commensurate with education, with the pay range for this position between $20.22 to $22.78/hr, based on level of education. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denvers 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. Location Flexibility The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model with a required 4 days in office.Employees work where needed to support business at Denver International Airport (DEN). We do not offer housing or relocation assistance for this position. Employees must work within the state of Colorado. Internship Duration and Hours This is a 6-month internship from Monday, June 1, 2026 - Friday, November 20, 2026, hours typically vary between 20-39 hours a week during the summer and 15-30 hours a week during school semesters. The DENterns work schedule will be flexible to accommodate their current academic commitments. Hours not exceeding 39 hours a week. Who We Are & What Youll Do Denver International Airport is the third-busiest airport in the United States and one of the top ten busiest airports in the world. DENterns participate in a cohort-based model that emphasizes networking, collaboration, and professional growth, attending all scheduled professional development sessions, tours, and engaging in impactful projects across the airport. Global Communications and Marketing (GCM) is actively seeking a Photography and Videography DENtern to contribute to their division. As part of DEN's Strategic Plan, Vision 100, which envisions reaching 100 million annual passengers, GCM plays a pivotal role in transforming the aviation industry. The Photography and Videography Internship supports DENs strategic marketing, communications, and talent pipeline objectives by producing high-quality digital media while developing future professionals through mentorship and applied learning. This position provides a dual benefit: delivering high-quality creative assets to DEN while enabling the intern to build a strong professional portfolio in a real-world, high-profile environment. Interns will also be exposed to a wide range of career opportunities within the aviation industry and establish a professional mentorship relationship with experienced DEN media and marketing professionals. As a DENtern you will work on projects that will develop and enhance your technical skills in photography, videography, and digital media production under the supervision of the Integrated Media Producer and supported by the Videography Producer and Digital Marketing Specialist. Projects include the planning, capturing, editing, and delivery of photography and video content that align with DEN brand standards and strategic messaging. All approved assets will be properly ingested and managed within DENs PhotoShelter Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. Projects include but are not limited to: Project #1: Internship Program Media Coverage Serve as the official photographer and videographer for the DEN Summer DENtern Program, documenting intern activities, events, and milestones. Project #2: End-of-Program Recruitment Video Plan, produce, and deliver a comprehensive video titled Becoming an Intern at DEN, highlighting the intern experience, professional development opportunities, and workplace culture. Project #3: Social Media Content Creation Capture and edit high-quality photography and short-form video content for DENs social media platforms such as, YouTube, and internal and external communications. Assist with social media engagement, including managing direct messages and comments, tracking social media mentions, and supporting basic data analysis and content strategy. Project #4: Event Coverage and Marketing Support Collaborate with the marketing team to support event coverage, partner shoots, and promotional initiatives. Project #5: Aviation Megatrend Research Collaborate with a team of fellow DENterns to conduct discovery research on a key aviation megatrend. This includes gathering data, interviewing industry experts, and analyzing findings. At the end of the summer, your team will present insights to DENs executive leadership to help shape strategic innovation and prepare the airport for the future. What Youll Bring Our ideal candidate has some or all the following interests, characteristics and skills: Passion for visual storytelling and creativity in photography and videography Be pursuing or having recently (within the past year) completed a degree in Marketing, Photography, Videography, Art/Design, or a related field Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable editing tools Interest in aviation and communications Desired Skill Set Photography & Videography Skills: Foundational skills in photography and videography such as familiarity with DSLR cameras (Canon or Sony preferred) and basic techniques such as lighting, audio, composition, and post production. Social Media Management: Understanding of platforms and content creation. Adaptability: Easily adjusting to changing circumstances and shifting priorities on short notice while balancing multiple tasks Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in completing tasks accurately Creativity: Generating innovative ideas and solutions. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirement:Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelors, or higher degree, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion). Experience: None Education and Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
