El Cajon, California The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location. Duties will include assisting in rooms with doctors, filling and administering medications, blood draws, placing IV catheters, digital radiology, including positioning, Dentistry, Anesthesia, & Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology, HM5, Vetscan, and Sedivue, etc. Animal Care Clinic aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their cats and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. Learn more about our clinic: http://animalcareclinicsandiego.com/ Requirements Registered Veterinary Technician, license must be current 2+ years of veterinary experience Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Experience with proper animal handling and restraint Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories TPR Assisting the doctor and other technical staff with restraint Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular) Placing IV catheters Digital radiology, including positioning. Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing) Experience with dental extractions Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique) Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology, HM5, Vetscan, Sedivue Excellent client communication/education Passion for working with animals and their owners Qualifications Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
