At US FOODS®, our CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers start with a base hourly rate of $32.43 per hour. Once component pay begins, compensation shifts to a structure based on miles, cases, and stops, with hourly pay provided for any downtime. Main Ingredients of the Job Lead with safety at the forefront Local and Layover routes available (routes are bid by driver tenure) Orders are single pallet picked so no digging at deliveries. Customer orders are selected on plastic pallets For ease of unloading all route trailers are equipped with liftgates All routes are dispatched with assigned powered pallet jacks Tractors and route trailers are assigned by driver tenure All delivery routes start between the hours of 5:00PM and 10:00PM 4- and 5-day schedules available with consecutive days off 5th and 6th day extra work is available with paid incentives Perform backhauls and shuttles as required Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections All other tasks as requested by management Physical Requirements Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required What You Bring to the Table Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse* Must be at least 21 years of age Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications Minimum of six months commercial driving experience; one year of food service experience preferred. Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.
