Software Engineering Intern

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for our Software Engineering Internship. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. A typical day as a Software Engineering Intern might include the following: Supporting SELs software development processes. Verifying that software meets requirements. Implementing firmware/software design. Providing support to SEL engineers and customers. Following engineering quality assurance procedures. Continuously identifying, measuring, and improving processes. Embracing the mindset: Understand. Create. Simplify. Applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Performing other duties as assigned. This job might be for you if: You are a current student pursuing a degree in computer science or equivalent degree You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities You have programming experience in OO programming languages and experience using a variety of scripting languages You have the ability to execute and document defined testing procedures You have knowledge of SQL and database concepts You have practical knowledge development Microsoft Windows applications You have experience using revision control and source code management systems You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Location Information All SEL internships are 100% onsite. This position is based in our Pullman, WA headquarters. Pullman is home to one of Washington States top school districts and enjoys beautiful 4 seasons. Pay Range Data ($19.50 - $32.50 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate).
