USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app This position is for a Postdoctoral Associate who will perform key experiments in the Laboratory of Advanced Biomaterials (PI: Jeong) in Department of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. The main field of research in Laboratory of Advanced Biomaterials is synthesis of novel biomaterials and their applications in regenerative medicine. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Design and perform experiments for the proposal that is being developed (50%) Neural stem cell differentiation into functioning neurons and oligodendrocytes in microgel assemblies Cardiac differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells in microgel assemblies NIH and DOW proposal preparation (50%) The research associate will provide help with proposal writing. More particularly, finding proper references, creating schematic diagrams and compiling preliminary data for the proposal. Requirements Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: PhD Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Polymer synthesis/modifications Human cell culture Biological characterizations/assays (e.g. qRT-PCR, ELISA, confocal microscopy) Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering Applicant Instructions: Applicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the My Experience: Resume/CV section of the application: (Maximum of 5 Documents) Resume/CV Cover Letter Applications that are missing any of the required items may not move forward for consideration. Compensation Pay Range: $65,000 The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon the candidates qualifications. Please be advised that this position is supported by external sponsor funding.
