Job Description: Medical Assistant Location: Bronx, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hr shifts; Mon-Fri (7:30a-6p) Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Record patients' vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned. We require: A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
