Many of the foundational principles for the educational philosophy of Leman Academy of Excellence have been formed and established by Dr. Kevin Leman, the founder of the school, who has often dreamed of launching a school and learning environment for young people that willingly engages and embraces parents in the educational process, highlighting the parent-teacher-scholar relationship to bring out the best in each and every child. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Speech Language Pathologists in the Leman Classical Organization serve scholars entitled to special education services across all levels (K-8) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and of speech language and social language development, behavior management within the context of the general education and special education classroom, consultation, and developmental needs of school aged children and adolescents. Additionally, candidates are responsible for assessing and providing research based intervention to scholars with a suspected speech language impairment. The SLP must work collaboratively to design Individual Education Programs that implement evidence based differentiated and innovative instruction aligned to the Guaranteed Viable Curriculum (GVCs) to support academic growth, positive social relationships, functional communication, and positive behavior for learning to promote educational access. Further, applicants should have demonstrated effective case management skills; effective written and oral communication skills; the ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships with school personnel, scholars, and parents; demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with scholars and their families; demonstrated ability and desire to function as a team member. A minimum of a Masters in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Science Disorders from an accredited college. The speech language pathologist must have a Colorado School Speech Language Pathologist License. It is preferred that the SLP have a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). All applicants need to apply online. Job Function: Our teachers are integral parts of their school and the school community, performing certain duties including but not limited to scholar support, counseling scholars with academic problems and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and scholar organizations, participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings. Teachers are responsible for managing scholar behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary. You would maintain accurate and complete records of scholars' progress and development preparing required reports on scholars and activities. You would utilize technology and integrate the use of technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities, instruct and monitor scholars in the use of learning materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on scholar's performance and development. You are challenged with new teaching methods and educational tools in an ever changing and strategic environment. You would plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. As a teacher you would be expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages scholars to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up to date records of every treatment/session delivered to students whether direct or indirect services. Information will be documented into either the current IEP system and/or current Medicaid system. Document all student services who are eligible for Medicaid reimbursement if current CCC's with ASHA are held. Complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities. Perform certain duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations, participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings. Supervise SLP-A's if current CCC's with ASHA are held. Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Documents health related services in Designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program. Utilize technology and integrate the use of technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities, instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on student's performance and development. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities.
