Position Title: Community Programs Worker Job Posting Closing Date: 08/09 The Recreation Center Programs Division is looking for a high-performing individual to fill the part-time position of Community Programs Worker at the Provo City Recreation Center. Job Details What is the compensation? Starting at $11.00 per hour. Successfully performing employees are eligible for a $0.50 per hour pay increase every six months up to $14.00 per hour. Part-time Provo City employees are eligible for the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors. What will I do? Perform general duties including front counter operations, crowd control, special events, and after-hours parties. Handle cashiering tasks, office-related responsibilities, and support senior activities and children's exercise programs. Assist office staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned. What do I need to apply? Sufficient experience and/or training which would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the duties of the job. What are the hours? Seeking a flexible candidate to work some morning and closing shifts. Schedule varies based on department need between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., Monday - Saturday, with a maximum of 25 hours per week. What are the physical and environmental factors? This work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 30 pounds, and sitting for extended periods of time at a computer terminal. Applicant must have physical strength and agility to perform the work. What is the selection process? Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on August 10, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months. Why Provo City?
