Job Posting: Activity Assistant Facility: Peninsula Post-Acute Location: Burlingame, CA Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $18 per hour + Comprehensive Benefits Package General Purpose Are you creative, energetic, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors? Peninsula Post-Acute is looking for an Activity Assistant to help our Activity Director run a vibrant, interactive activities program. Your goal will be to ensure our residents enjoy an ongoing program designed to meet their unique physical, mental, and psychosocial needs in accordance with all federal and state regulations. Essential Duties In this role, you will be the heart of our community's social life. Your daily responsibilities include: Activity Facilitation: Plan and lead individual, small-group, and large-group activities that spark joy and engagement. Resident Engagement: Encourage residents to pursue hobbies, crafts, and reading. You will provide necessary materials, including specialized resources like Braille or audiobooks when needed. Planning & Logistics: Assist in developing the monthly activity calendar, arranging transportation for resident outings or medical appointments, and maintaining accurate attendance records. Care Collaboration: Participate in resident assessments, discharge planning, and the development of activity care plans. You will also assist with quarterly progress notes as assigned. Communication: Act as a bridge between employees, residents, families, and the public to ensure the best interests of our residents are always met. Environmental Oversight: Ensure the Activity Department remains clean, orderly, and secure. Qualifications & Skills Creativity: A knack for developing engaging and diverse programs for residents with varying levels of ability. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to relate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Organization: Ability to manage schedules, documentation, and materials in a fast-paced environment. Empathy: A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents through meaningful interaction. Benefits Competitive hourly rate of $18/hour.
