Full Job Description

The Sales Operations Engineer will be a key contributor to Roadrunners commercial strategy, applying strong analytical, engineering, and data management skills to optimize sales processes, territory performance, and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on data expert who can bridge business needs with technical capabilities, bringing structure, precision, and insight to complex sales and operational challenges. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring a strong foundation in analytics and data engineering, and have proven experience within the LTL, trucking, logistics, or transportation sectors. Critical Job Functions: Design and maintain advanced sales analytics models, dashboards, and performance reports to enable data-driven decisions. Lead the management, optimization, and ongoing evaluation of sales territories, ensuring equitable distribution, strategic coverage, and alignment with network performance goals. Engineer and automate data pipelines to improve visibility and consistency across sales, operations, and finance functions. Administer and enhance Zoho CRM (or equivalent platforms), ensuring high-quality data, seamless integration, and adoption across the sales organization. Partner with sales and operational leadership to define KPIs, analyze trends, and develop actionable insights for growth and efficiency. Support strategic pricing, forecasting, and performance improvement initiatives through advanced analytical modeling. Standardize data governance practices and documentation for reporting and performance measurement. Collaborate on the rollout of new tools and systems that enhance sales productivity and transparency. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree required in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related Science discipline; advanced degree preferred. 37 years of experience in sales operations, data analytics, or data engineering within LTL, trucking, logistics, or airline industries. Proven expertise in data manipulation and analytics (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Experience with Zoho CRM or comparable platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.). Demonstrated success in territory management, sales performance analytics, and commercial process optimization. Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to collaborate across departments, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under tight timelines. A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for using data to drive operational excellence. Preferred Skills Familiarity with LTL pricing, TMS systems, and freight network optimization. Experience integrating CRM systems with operational and financial data sources. Working knowledge of automation tools and sales enablement technologies.
