May require professional certification. Grade 4 (Hourly) Position Description: A Research Technician I position is available in the Center for Cardiometabolic Science at the University of Louisville. This position will be in the laboratory of Helen Collins, Ph.D., which has a focus on womens cardiovascular health and resilience (https://helen-collins.owlstown.net/). Research will focus on understanding how changes in metabolism in the female heart influence cardiac remodeling and contribute to overall cardiovascular health. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in ongoing studies in the laboratory. Help maintain study animals. Prepare and analyze biological samples. Perform basic biochemical assays and data analyses. Regularly present and communicate findings. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in biology, biochemistry, physiology, or related field. Experience in at least one or more of the following is highly desired: animal handling, animal breeding, genotyping, PCR, western blotting, or cell culture. Proficient in MS outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Target Compensation Maximum: $31.38 Target Compensation Minimum: $20.92 Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
