Available Title(s): 143J-YN_CS_NPS - Fiscal Analyst 2 Business Title: Fiscal Analyst 2 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Fiscal Analyst 2, you will join the Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN) in the College of Veterinary Medicine, where you'll be part of a supportive environment committed to employee development and career growth. Working independently under general supervision, you will provide financial analysis, reporting, and budget management in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will develop fiscal projections, prepare budget reports, analyze financial trends, and support department-wide financial planning and decision-making. You will manage key grant administration activities, including preparing grant proposals and budgets, coordinating budget planning and account setup, and ensuring the accuracy of grant and departmental financial transactions. As an expenditure authority, you will help maintain compliance and responsible stewardship of departmental resources. In addition, you will provide guidance to faculty, staff, and support personnel on business policies and fiscal procedures related to grants, purchasing, contracts, travel, and research operations. You will serve as a trusted advisor on faculty funding accounts, monitor operational risk, and provide recommendations that support effective financial management and departmental success. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $4,517 - $6,075 | Range 49 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: A Bachelors degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail. Ability to occasionally work additional hours, including evenings and weekends to meet grant submission deadlines. Experience successfully meeting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and sponsored project funding. Experience using Workday or similar platform. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately with numbers. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret complex policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience in working positively with diverse people and in accurately advising employees regarding policies and procedures. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Demonstrated experience in using PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Experience with submitting federal, state, and internal grant proposals. Budget certified.
