Job Description: LOCATION: Onsite in Columbia, MD Network Engineer We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure. You will ensure optimal network performance, security, and reliability while supporting business operations and growth. Responsibilities Network Operations and Management Design, configure, and deploy network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure maximum uptime Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches on network equipment Maintain detailed network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures Manage network capacity planning and recommend infrastructure improvements Security and Compliance Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments Respond to security incidents and implement remediation measures Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements Support and Collaboration Provide tier 2/3 technical support for network-related issues Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and partners on projects and initiatives Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support Mentor junior team members Project Work Lead or contribute to network infrastructure projects and upgrades Recommend new technologies and solutions Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans Qualifications Education & Experience 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or administration Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience Experience with enterprise-level network environments Technical Skills Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS) Proficiency with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto Experience with network monitoring and management tools Understanding of network security principles and best practices Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation Certifications CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification preferred Additional certifications (CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or security certifications) preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience with SD-WAN technologies Experience with datacenter networking and operations Experience with Juniper, F5 and Cisco devices Experience with Cloud networking Work Environment Hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence required for datacenter maintenance Occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance windows Participation in on-call rotation The annual salary range for this position is $94,000-$152,375. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
