The Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy and Government Service has been established by a historic gift from USC Trustee Leonard D. Schaeffer. It houses two existing programs under one umbrellathe Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics and the Leonard D. Schaeffer Fellows in Government Service. The USC Schaeffer Center is a collaboration of the Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Sol Price School of Public Policy with the mission to measurably improve value in health through evidence-based policy solutions, research excellence, and private and public sector engagement. The Schaeffer Center is seeking a Project Specialist to provide specialized research support on studies of health policy and economics, including research on healthcare spending and administrative processes in the healthcare system. This is a one year, fixed-term position with a hybrid work arrangement. This position is funded by a contract, grant or gift. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting in the design of and contributing to research study protocols and procedures, including disseminating information about studies/projects and monitoring progression throughout the studies. Contributing to the writing of reports, research papers, articles, and other documentation of study results and implications. Generating graphs, charts, and tables to present analysis results and aid in interpretation of results. Advising on statistical techniques for data collection and analysis and assisting in the planning of and collecting data. Working with faculty, staff, students, collaborators, and study participants during the studies/projects. Minimum Education: Bachelors degree Minimum Experience: 2 years Preferred Education: Masters degree Preferred Experience: 3 years Compensation The hourly rate range for this position is $29.59 - $31.98. About the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics Since its establishment in 2009, the USC Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics has served as an intellectual hub for health policy and health economics research at USC. The Schaeffer Centers mission is to measurably improve value in health through evidence-based policy solutions, research excellence, and private and public sector engagement. As the home to about 150 faculty, staff, and fellowsincluding 3 Nobel Laureatesthe Center produces some of the leading academic research in its field.
