We are open Monday-Saturday and see a variety of pets including small mammals (ferrets, rabbits, etc.). Sign-on Bonus of $1500 for Full-time qualified candidates! Relocation Assistance up to $2500 available! Salary: $30 - 33 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Additional Benefits: $1000 continuing education allowance per year and license reimbursement annually. Location: 1280 N Adair Street, Cornelius, OR 97113 Hours of Operation: Mon-Fri 7:30 am 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am 5:00 pm, Closed Sunday and major holidays Who you are: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in Oregon required or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Passion for working with animals and their owners Experience with proper animal handling and restraint, Fear Free preferred Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories Perform basic exam procedures Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular) Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique) Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines Excellent client communication/education Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients and clients. Be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring surgery patients, surgical recovery, drawing blood and running bloodwork, placing IV catheters, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with in-clinic laboratory equipment, comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player.
