As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, youll dive deep into ground-breaking technologieslike machine learning and AIto craft novel software solutions that solve our customers high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. To that end, the Operations Product Development team drives technology, business process and strategic innovation supporting Applied Materials Global Operations. Were looking for a highly technical Product Manager with a strong foundation in software engineering and data-oriented development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping product strategy and getting deep into technical detailssomeone who can partner with engineering, understand the architecture, and translate business needs into scalable, efficient solutions. This TPM will work closely with backend engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define and deliver products built primarily in Python, leveraging FastAPI, Polars, and SQLAlchemy. Responsibilities Product Translate business goals and customer needs into technical product requirements. Collaborate with engineering to design scalable APIs, accurate data pipelines, and reliable backend systems. Evaluate technical trade-offs and influence architecture decisions. Technical Develop systems with agile development methodologies and principles Participate in planning, design, development, and implementation for multiple initiatives Understand and augment the system and application architecture as needed Continuous integration and deployment of code Write secure, reliable, testable, readable code Create frontend Application using React Write and maintain APIs and backend services Maintain and support existing products and services Desired Qualifications 4+ years of experience in python programming 2+ Years of experience in building REST APIs Hands-On experience testing, debugging and troubleshooting REST APIs implemented using Python Experience in one or more messaging technologies, JMS, rabbitMQ, SQS, or AMQP Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with React performance testing and performance optimization (React profiler, server-side rendering, code splitting/lazy loading) Proficient in SQL Query Development, Relational Database Design Understand and apply XML / JSON concepts Flexible with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and positive attitude. Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to interact with Developers and management. Comfortable working in real-time with other engineers in remote locations Preferred (primary) location is in Austin. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
