Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Associate Logistics Engineer to join our Linthicum, MD based Logistics and Product Support organization. This position seeks an Engineer to perform Logistics Engineering Tasks such as Product Support Analysis, Logistics Product Data generation, Sustainment Planning and execution, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) management. What You'll Get To Do: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence design and sustainment strategies for a variety of products supporting US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, US Marine Corps and other customers. Analysis are performed during all phases of a products life cycle: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The successful candidate will apply both technical knowledge and organizational skills to solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Typical work products will include Trade Studies and engineering analysis to determine a products Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA), Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis, Support Equipment requirements, Spares Modelling, Trend analysis of maintenance and repair histories, and the identification and mitigation of DMSMS risks. Roles and Responsibilities: Performing logistics Product Support Analyses (PSA) to identify parts, equipment, activities and skillset necessary to maintain systems and achieve required levels of operational availability. Conduct Trade Studies to design sustainment strategies that minimize a system logistics footprint while achieving all other system requirements. Interacting with team members to interpret Customer needs and requirements. Participating in and presenting technical information in team and customer meetings. Coordinate with engineers, manufacturing, and customers to collect and exchange data. Collect, track and analyses data such as usage rates, operation and maintenance trends, inventory level and other relevant information needed to ensure the sustainability of systems. Work with team to identify DMSMS risk, assess impacts, determine appropriate resolutions, and execute solutions. Contributing to proposal efforts. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment that requires continuous learning in technical skills. Willingness to perform physically work, and travel between NGC buildings in Baltimore area. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related field and a minimum of 6+ months of related/professional experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment. 6+ months proficiency with MS Excel and Word. 6+ months experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and product data sheets for electrical components. 6+ months demonstrated experience solving technical issues at a systems/design level in an engineering team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Integrated Product Support Analysis in accordance with MIL-HDBK-502 and TA-STD-0017. Able to take direction, work remotely, and quickly achieve the ability to work independently after receiving instruction/training. Knowledge of Logistics Product Data developments in accordance with GEIA-STD-0007. Experience with Logistic Product Database software tools such as EAGLE, SLICWave, PowerLogJ, or similar. Experience developing logistics work products on a Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition program or DoD Sustainment program. Experience utilizing relational database software. Advanced knowledge in utilizing MS Excel and Access, including ability to create formulas, macros and Visual Basic Applications (VBA) to facilitate data transfer and data analysis of large data sets. Knowledge of Information Systems and programming skills to create and maintain automated methods for data collection, transfer, and analysis. Primary Level Salary Range: $53,100.00 - $79,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
